SCKL Marathon: Postponement of race to 23rd September 2013

SCKL Marathon: Postponement of race to 23rd September 2013

Standard Chartered KL Marathon has just released a statement on their Facebook page.

"Dear runners,

It is with much regret to announce that the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2013 has been postponed till 29th  September 2013.

This postponement is unavoidable as the haze situation, while getting better still poses a health risk. An official statement will be released to the media tomorrow".

In the mean time, runners, please dont forget to utilize the discount voucher as available on this page:

Get that new pair of shoes (and accessories, as its per receipt!), and break some miles into it in time for the newly postponed race in September ^^

Racepack kit collection is still on as per the dates stated, and I am going to collect mine at PWTC tomorrow. See you peeps at the race in September!

For more updates on the race, please check their Facebook page:

Official Statement as taken from their Facebook page here:

Organisers announce new date, 29 September 2013

The organisers of Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2013 officially made the decision today to postpone the Marathon that was initially scheduled for 30 June 2013 in the interest of public health. The decision was made with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, co-organiser Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur and title sponsor, Standard Chartered Bank.

After discussions with the local authorities including Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), Department of Environment (DOE) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the organisers and partners of the event came to a difficult decision to postpone the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2013 to 29 September 2013.

YB Khairy Jamaluddin, the Minister of Youth and Sports has concurred with the decision to postpone the event due to the current haze situation, given the potential detrimental health hazards posed to more than 33,000 participants of the Marathon.

Kuala Lumpur Mayor, YBhg Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad Phesal Talib reinforced the decision to set the Marathon to a more conducive time and date due to the unexpected circumstance. "The Standard Chartered KL Marathon is a key event for Kuala Lumpur, and I'm supportive of it being held in better weather condition. We want the participants to enjoy their run along the streets of Kuala Lumpur," he added.

Rainer Biemans, the Project Director of Standard Chartered KL Marathon further explained why such a tough decision was made, "The main factor of the postponement is due to the haze situation in the city. The Air Pollutant Index (API) which scaled to a hazardous level earlier in the week is yet to show strong improvement. We regret any inconveniences caused but we place our runners' health and safety above all else. The team worked very hard to get everything in place and we share the runners' disappointment. With a new date to look forward to, we hope that all runners will take this opportunity to continue training and be even more mentally prepared to run and finish a good race. We look forward to seeing all of you in September."

Title sponsor, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Osman Morad supported the decision and said, "As much as we would like to proceed with the Marathon, we will not compromise on public health. We have rescheduled the Marathon based on the city's calendar and on the advice of the authorities. I look forward to it taking place in September with keen anticipation."

Race Entry Pack Collection will however proceed as scheduled on 27 to 29 June at PWTC for runners residing in W.P. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. For runners that are not from W.P. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor may collect their race-entry packs on the week leading to 29 September where the organisers will set up a small scale Race Entry Pack Collection only for these outstation and overseas runners.

Organisers encourage participants to regularly visit the Standard Chartered KL Marathon official website and for updates.

MIVVA: Unboxing Colourific Beauty Box June 2013

Look at all the goodies!

Hi girlies, How has the month of June been treating you?

1 week = 1 kilo Loss. Weight Loss Plateau Broken!

Food diary..
Haze jokes in, the haze from Indonesia reached OUG this morning. It reached Sunway, and SS15 about 11am yesterday. I wanted to park outdoors, but the smokey air was too much for us.

Today I wanted to for swimming lessons with my fitness instructor, but because the pool was outdoors, I had to continue my personal training indoors.

Haze jokes aside, here is some of my good news to share.

Last week, my training instructor observed that my weight loss had reached a standstill in the past few weeks. So he decided to increase the intensity of my circuit training sets.

Panasonic: Lumix DMC -GF5 W camera

The box.

Late in December last year, I decided to head to the PC Fair in KLCC with some mates. Whilst there, I decided to get a new camera.

I finally decided on the Panasonic Lumix GF5W, as I was told the price the sales person offered to me was worth it as it came with double lens kit.

999.9 Gold Price drops, but demand is hesitant.

999.9 Gold Price drops, but demand is hesitant.

When I checked my mail this morning, I was informed that gold price as CIMB GIA has dropped to as low as Rm134.40 as at 10am (Malaysian time) today.

Yesterdays pricing was Rm140.80, causing the difference today to be about Rm6! What an unbelievable difference!

Forbes reports that the demand for gold has returned with the price of gold dropping since Thursday, however, the response from buyers isnt as crazy as it was in April.

Personally as a buyer, I can attest to that. Having had a go at it in April, I now too am waiting to see if the price will drop even further before jumping in.

Buyers keeping an eye on the charts, will realise the price has remained steadily around the Rm140ish radius, and hasnt really moved up much or down.

Today is a good day to buy if you dont want to wait for the weekend. Then again, one cannot predict how the price will go. Its all a matter of luck.

Dr Mahathir regrets Internet Freedom

Dr Mahathir regrets Internet Freedom

And there we go again.

Yahoo Malaysia today reports that Dr.Mahathir made a statement that he regrets giving Malaysians Internet Freedom...

Seriously speaking, unless he wants to be known as a tyrant.. (which I am sure a lot of people do anyways)

Whichever way the wind flows, people will continue to demand for their rights.

The current BN government is already possessing ownership of the local tv and paper media, and now they are trying to censor the Internet as well?

Tsk Tsk Tsk.

A Productive Sunday

A Productive Sunday

Sunday was productive. I was able to complete a number of tasks through out the day.

1) Went with my cousin sister, Mabel to church cause she had to serve in the Taman Desa church, then we had lunch together in Taman Desa.

2) Went to the gym. I am going to True Fitness. 30 mins warm up, 1 hour circuit training.

3) Finally managed to get the old Technics EA-1 Organ moved out. The new pre-loved showroom model I bought, the Yamaha HE-4 which I bought at about Rm1,280 from my old music school, Isodes, will be coming home this week!

4) Practised two music pieces on the Yamaha PSR S950. The All The Way My Saviour Leads Me.
Also learnt to use the Transpose function (zero to +2), whilst playing to the audio cd playing of I Love You Lord.

5) Finally turned on the Bahasa Indonesia gospel tracks that I bought from Surabaya.. Need to find some tracks for cell group who are preparing for a mission trip.

Productive? Well, since I wont be free tonight to practise the music pieces, had to do it  yesterday to make up for it. ^^

Metamoff Gallery 6: Eyebrows & Foundation application

This entry is a few weeks due (teacher off, class off.. and didn't post for a while).

For this class, my instructor decided to just focus on two parts of my face.

The eye brows, and my application of foundation.

She says that these are the two basic elements that needs to be done right in the make-up application process.
