Laneige: Snow BB Soothing Cushion SPF 50+

So it was not too long ago that I wrote about the Laneige Brighten Up Roadshow in Midvalley.

I totally fell in love with the Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion as my cousin, Mabel was also using it one of the days when I was over at her place for a dinner make up session.

Food:
I love food. Although I am more inclined to fitness these days, I still love my food...

My favourite is Kal Guk Su, an authentic korean homemade vermicelli knife cut style noodles.

The best I found was in Strathfield, NSW Australia. It sells for AUD10.00. Yum. The shop is a very small dinery located by the Strathfield train station (one that leads to the Strathfield mall)

The freshness of the home made kalguksu (which does not have so much additives) paired with fresh made kimchi makes the taste totally out of this world. You will think you left earth and went to heaven.

Unfortunately that cant be found in Malaysia, coz it needs to be made by a korean native for that korean authentic taste.
Kalguksu (Strathfield, 2010)
I also love hot chocolate.. one of my sinful calorific loves.. YUM

Hot Chocolate from Max Brenner (Sydney, 2011)
Cappucinno : Max Brenner (Sydney, 2011)
Meat pies are Yum. Get the home made ones, not the ones from Coles or Woolies... those are the shitty factory manufactured with all pasty and no flavour.

Meat pies (Illawara Highway, 2011)
Vietnamese Pho are also one of my favourite delights. In New South Wales, and Melbourne, many native Vietnamese have settled and opened their own dineries. Of course, there are the good ones, and not so tasty ones. You just need to pick the right places.

I hope to try good Vietnamese pho when I head to Hanoi in August 2013.

Authentic Vietnamese Pho (Sydney, 2011)
Hong Cha is this place in OUG, near where I live. The food is cheap and good and served in abundance. YUM.

Of course, nothing also beats home cooked food made with love... especially during festive times.

San Lee Shoes: New Ballroom Dancing Shoes

So one fine weekday this week, the opportunity arose and I managed to sneak a lunch hour out to Taman Midah. I don't normally get to use the car, so it was the perfect opportunity to get myself familiarised with Cheras.

It took me close to half an hour to 45 mins to get to the place coz I got lost... LOL. I checked out the place on Google Maps and was fine till I reached Jalan Cheras... and then I realised I got lost and had zoomed all the way to Jalan Miharja. Luckily my Nokia E63 could still support Google Maps (no matter how small the screen was. LOL).

The shop is located a block away behind Tesco adjacent to Taman Midah along Jalan Cheras.

Phew!! Finally found San Lee Shoes!
Sample of ballroom dance shoes
To start off I had to choose between Latin or Ballroom dance shoes. Latin shoes are open toed and shorter in height (about 2 inches), whereas Ballroom shoes are closed toes and about 2.5 inches in height. If you haven't known by now, I have been learning latin-ballroom dance in my friend's studio, Zen Ballet in Kuchai Lama for the past one year now.

This is not my first time learning latin, as many many eons ago before heading to Australia, I had learnt the cha-cha genre dance for about half a year. I also brought along my old black latin shoes (shorter stem of about 2 inches) to get it fixed at the shop.

It turns out the old pair of shoes that I made when I was learning dance at William & Louisa was ordered from San Lee as well. What a surprise!

Anyways, I chose the pattern above, and chose a skin coloured latin fabric for my shoes. The cost was about RM150 for the ballroom shoes. The attendant also charged me RM18 to fix my latin shoes...She gave me an appointment card and asked me to come and collect both pair of shoes in about ten working days.

Guess I have to wear socks for dance class till my shoes are fixed. LOL.  >_<

Eats:Birthday Dinner @ Coco Steamboat

On Sunday, my mates and I decided to celebrate a mate's birthday. We ended up with Coco Steamboat due to their alleged tasty "pork bone base" hot pot soup. Coco Steamboat is a non-halal dinery, if you're wondering.

We arrived at the Old Klang Road outlet by 6.30ish, but the place was fully packed...

OKR place packed!
No place to sit.. minimum waiting time is 30 mins on a weekend!
Fish ponds to calm the nerves? LOL
Cheras & OKR map on the name card.
We were told by the manager that there was another outlet in Puchong. Our driver, Zen (who was already really hungry then) decided to make a go for that instead.... We ended up making a few false turns before being able to located the designated outlet.. >_<.

It is located up the street from Pappa Rich near Puchong Boulevard.

The newly open Puchong outlet in late January 2013.
Puchong crowd was already there.
Menu and all.
Although there were four for us, we ordered for two persons soup base (and fillings) (RM33.60), and added on our ala carte dishes to the steamboat base. We ordered one serving of Sliced Pork  (RM11.90), Mushroom meat ball (RM9.90), Pu Er tea set (rm3.50), Ice Pot (RM1), and Pineapple Juice (RM4)

Order for two person's set.
A closer look at the base soup with stuff swimming inside >_<
Doggie bags for my dog (the staff gave a generous supply of left over pork bones for my dog, Vicky!
Dinner came up to about RM82.80. There was no service charge or government tax on the receipt though, surprisingly.

Siew Ying's opera cake... (RM21.50 from a bakery in Danau Desa)
Siew Ying, the birthday girl!
Everybody smile! (Zen, ZY, me, Siew  Ying).
Food Marks: 7/10
Location: Fairly easy to find. (if you have Google Maps!)
Reservations:
Puchong: Currently available.
OKR: Advisable to make bookings beforehand. No reservations after 6.30pm.
Better to come on weekdays.

Address:

Puchong: 51-02, Jalan Kenari 19a, Bandar Puchong Jaya, 47100 Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia.
